Observation details

Spotted here 43.4641703, -116.1412040 at 7:20pm. Was perched and preening but then started calling more and more frequently. Took off at 7:27 and spiraled up at least 1k feet in the air calling constantly until we couldn't see or hear it anymore. Got recordings. We stayed at the reservoir almost two more hours and we didn't see or hear it again. It definitely seems like it must have migrated ahead of this storm. Slightly smaller than long billed curlew sized bird with shorter bill, straighter for more of the length and then curved at the tip. More compressed, lemon -shaped head with a less rounded forehead than LB Curlew. We saw a hint of the more eyebrowed face pattern and when it stretched its wings didn't see any cinnamon underneath.
