Observation details

Beautiful sparrow with vivid orange markings on the head (supercilium and malar areas), bold gray cheek patch, and darker brown body. Unlike a LeConte's Sparrow, the entire crown was dark-colored gray or brown. Darker in its general appearance than a Henslow's or Grasshopper. Watched it about 20 meters away with great views, and saw it vocalize many times. Singing faint hissing song. SE area of the property
