though shot is quite poor, it clearly shows how brown the face and head are with a blue nape.
The third Blue Grosbeak found at this location in a week. This immature male in distinctly different plumage than the previously seen male. It was found at the exact spot the adult female was found last week. Note the brown head with blue nape and extremely pale belly, not at all like last weeks male that had steel gray belly and intensely blue head. Bird was easily located as it sang continuously wherever it moved to. It remained in one field or the other, either side of the road.
