Observation details

We appreciate all the detail reports that have been coming out about this species. With all the wind today these guys weren't easy to find. We searched at the junction of Concow and Rim road for about an hour, heading down rim road without any luck. From the junction, there is a old track on the other side of the road. If you follow Concow around the next bend or two, the road widens and that old track connects back with Concow. We walked up that track 40 yards or so, and could hear them singing from the car. With all the wind, over the hour that we observed them, only once singing from a snag above 8ft. They were down in the shrubs mostly, and occasionally hopping up a bit to sing. There were probably 3 or 4, but it was really hard to track movement and sound between gusts. 2 for sure, heard singing and seen 50 yards apart.
