Observation details

Spectacular encounter with a lifer!!! Minimum estimate, counting by 10s. Honestly probably at least 200. Came into a field of high grass while I was there, then periodically moved around it in chunks of the flock. Seemed to be settling down for the night. Seemed fairly evenly distributed between females and males. But MAYBE more like two-to-one female to male.

Additional species

  • Red-winged Blackbird Agelaius phoeniceus
  • Eastern Meadowlark Sturnella magna
