Observation details

Two gulls were flying fairly distant, occasionally coming a little closer. Another gull appeared though staying further from the other two. They landed, but the one still stayed off a ways from the other two so no photo with all the gulls. Poor video, via an iPhone attached to the scope, has blown highlights from the strong sun on an unusually hot spring day. Poor screenshots show all with a plain bill without a dark ring like a Ring-billed Gull. Viewing directly through the scope at high power showed no evidence of a ring either. The backs should be much darker than the images show. The gulls moved further away before an adjustment for lighting and focus could be completed.
