Observation details
Continuing bird from 4/26. Flycatcher with black cap, gray back, brown wings and dark forked tail. White chest and belly. Similar in size and coloration to an Eastern Kingbird. Tail reminiscent of a scissortailed flycatcher in flight. With eastern kingbirds, bobolinks, and red-winged blackbirds near the originally pinned location: (38.6962500, -90.0794167). In scrubby field. We got to see it fly overhead and perch in a small tree with red-winged blackbirds. It preened and then sallied back into a field where grasses obscured viewing. Observed from 1:37pm to 1:44pm with many other birders. Photos to come.
