Observation details

Phalarope with bill that is thick at the base. Some gray on the back and some white edging to the feathers on the back and wings. Likely a juvenile bird. Was shocked to see this bird after having seen a similar looking red phalarope at White Rock Lake in Dallas the day before, 8/30/2015.
