Observation details

Edit: Exact count maybe more. Two at 11°56'10.0"N 76°14'43.2"E flying to join group 11°56'11.6"N 76°14'48.2"E before going SE . I did not take photos :/ All birds had diagnostic casque ruling out malabar. eBird data suggest still good representation in these small-wood deforested-plains patches before making it into denser wood upslope. Malabar Gray are also reported present, but much sparser rarer reporting denser forests upslope west. I believe this is consistent that the Indian Gray Hornbill is the only Indian hornbill that does not require dense forests. However, this same list still reports Malabar Pied, albeit this is their eastern limit and they were headed the opposite direction. Bison Resort is the last resort before the forest that is within sight, so might have nice potential. However, wood is recent, non-natural, small and claustrophobic. Future goal: a 4 hornbill list.
