Observation details
I originally arrived after Layne called me about the Fish Crow he heard at 9:00am and was stopped for speeding at the site. While waiting for my license and registration I heard the Fish Crow but had to drive away to do a birding program in Onekama. Fortunately Layne said Linda Scribner had re-found the bird so I returned later to see Linda and Layne watching it from west of the hotel. I drove to the other side of the park to get a better sun angle on the bird and made a voice recording there. I noticed then there were two Fish Crows and having forgotten my camera went to get my scope and they flew to the north, one landing on a light pole. I had an excellent view of the flight and noted a couple things, one is that the flight seemed lighter and more buoyant than American Crow and two was that the wing seemed angled forward and the wing tip more pointed, not as paddle shaped as American Crow. I took several photos of the perched bird showing a slightly longer tail, shorter legs and smaller head than American Crow. The bird then flew either up river of to the north at 11:30 and was lost from view.
