Observation details

We had been here for an hour and were about to leave when we heard some suspicious vocalizations coming from the forest edge. It was tough to be sure since there were Mountain Caciques doing somewhat similar calls, but I got some recordings that were perfect for the parrots. At least two present. Finally, around 9 AM I spotted one sneaking around the canopy of one of the forest edge trees, and I managed some more recordings and poor photos. -3.65971, -79.26971. They flew back from the edge and for the next 20 minutes we neither saw nor heard them. Then we were about to leave again when they flew out of the forest and landed in a tall tree at -3.66034, -79.27062. They fed very quietly on fruits in this tree. They would have been almost impossible to find in this tree if we hadn’t seen them fly into here. Such a secretive parrot! Lots of photos and recordings to be added.
