Observation details
I’ve been chasing this little bugger for a while, it seems they like to walk down dirt path instead of walking through the savanna. I can usually get within 35 feet before they go silent. Blown my cover? When they fly up they are dead silent, when they land nearby they are dead silent, weird. Note, I’ve discovered by accident that playing back their "PEENT" call causes the bird to immediately “echo back.” Is this echo'ing back how they draw mates? Are the male and female calls identical? These little guys can really book down the path. Note when they decide to fly away or land they are dead silent, just amazing. I need a good low light camera for this work not my iPhone 13. gag
