Observation details
2 together. Only singing periodically. Gave two note call every 5-10 minutes, possibly a contact call. Observed at very close range for at least 30 minutes. Did not appear to have Zygodactyle toes (2 forward, 2 back). It appeared to have 3 toes forward, 1 back like a passerine. Body shape was much like a Wallcreeper. Tail was short, squared off, and very broad. Observed flaring wings out several times, flaring the tail also. Behavior was mostly like Brown Creeper at home. Bird would typically start low on a tree and work its way upward, usually staying on one side of the tree. Occasionally the bird would work its way downward on the tree for a short ways. Feeding was all done on the trunk or larger branches. Most flights were short flights to one of the next closest trees.
