Observation details
Continuing bird first located 12/19/2024. Small flycatcher with a narrow dark bill, tan rump, some previous photos show dark smudges on the rump, The tail is dark. dark wings extending just on to the tail. A dark eye. Pale, almost white throat, with a faint rusty bib. pale indistinct supercilium and a faint eye stripe. crown very rounded. underwings gray. dingy underparts. Perches both high and low, when low seen frequently dropping into the grass to forage. Not observed flycatching. lowers tail slowly and flicks up rapidly, the opposite pattern to eastern phoebe. Does not flycatch like a vermillion flycatcher
