Observation details
Saw movement in thicket, pished and out popped a female PUFI with another individual still hiding. Larger than HOFI with larger bill, slightly rounded culmen, contrasting brown and white plumage with more contrasted markings than either House or Cassin’s finch. Blurry streaks on belly. No eyeing. Made soft distinct “pit pit” calls.
