Observation details
To the west of the side trail that goes north from the main trail, I saw a bird at the top of a small Buckthorn tree, feeding on berries. It was obscured by some branches and I assumed it was Robin. But a better view revealed it was a Catbird, a most unusual sighting for January in Ottawa. I got good views of it. It showed off an overall gray body with a black crown. I could even see the red on the undertail coverts several times.
