Observation details

Took almost 2 hours to get a definitive look. Diving and preening quite a bit. Light sides and neck dark on back long neck. Parked on side of cr 225 in front of 554 For the reviewer; I am quite familiar with this bird photographing and videoing them in Alaska. Large grebe, larger than eared or horned. Distant view but distinct when you could see the very large yellow bill white check patch. Long neck with contrast dark to back and light to front not red on this plumage. Body large and dark with some white flecking more white towards the rear. Would be happy with a better image but my larger camera broke the day before so I added this image from my little camera for my own personal documentation.
