Observation details
Heard some giving their high pitched "peeeeeep!" call throughout the day, but the star of the show was Pollo coming to get some worms at his feeding station. Had to wait a while, while one of the guides yelled "Pollo! Venga!" on and on. Everyone was excited momentarily by Rufous-collared Sparrows and a Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush coming in, but soon enough Pollo himself appeared, hopping quickly onto the mossy rock where some yummy worm nuggets had been laid. Fairly dull antpitta, all brownish with slightly more pale throat and belly, giving a brown breast banded look. But what he lacks in style he makes up for in rarity - super localized and uncommon CO endemic that is really hard to see. Great lifer.
