Media notes
This worn, adult Least Bell's Vireo was photographed by Curtis A. Marantz on 8 July 2017 near Scissors Crossing, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California.
Observation details
(singing and calling; I did my best to count the Bell's Vireos, but was confounded to some degree by the number of singing birds and the presence of several family groups; this said, I probably heard at least eight singing birds and I saw several rather worn, ratty birds, including two or three juveniles, all of which appeared to represent the locally breeding V. b. pusillus)
