Observation details
Adult circling relatively high above lake and continuing off to the NW. Naked eye I initially thought the bird to be a WFIB due to small size and fast wingbeats. Moving to binoculars I could see it was a slim, entirely blackish cormorant with relatively long tail and dark face. Several photos were taken as the bird was flying away, which show dark lores, a dark bronzy gular, and small area of white just behind gular.
