Perched on the southern facade of 147 West 162nd Street off of Edgecombe Avenue facing uptown. The hawk stayed in the area until shortly before sunset. Processed and taken on an iPhone 14 Pro. Cropped image settings applied to the wide field view.
Observation details
#14 1537 COHA Juvenile heading uptown and landing on the south side of 147 West 162nd Street (off of Edgecombe Avenue) near the southeast corner facing uptown. Still there by 1547. Off by 1548. • Plus 0: The juvenile hawk flew to a tree in Highbridge Park along West 162nd Street with a squirrel scurrying away by 1549. The squirrel approached the Cooper’s Hawk closely with no reaction from the hawk by 1553. Still there by 1556. • Plus 0: Perched in the tree south of the flagpole near the eastern fence from 1606. After it heard something it flew to a tree across Edgecombe Avenue facing the river by 1608. Still there by 1617. Off by 1618.
