Observation details
What a lifer! Heard the descending whinnying call up the hill, but it was far off. We tried the call, and sure enough it came a little closer and we saw it swoop down the mountain and go into the big stand of trees in front of us. We could hear it calling in there but couldn't actually find it for a while until I spotted it perched on a very small thin tree covered in moss, propped up on his woodcreeper tail. Got very good looks at this normal-looking WC save the absolutely absurd bill - super long decurved brownish thin bill it uses to probe into epiphytes and moss and stuff looking for bugs. Got additional looks in a second spot and then it moved off. Great lifer! Great bird.
