Observation details

Drooping neck weighed down by massive greyish-yellowish bill. When it flew overhead quite low down, I could see extensive white patches under its wings. Diamond-shaped tail with extensive white on both sides. Generally mid-brown plumage. Long wings. Rocking from side to side as it approached low over the Nagara River. It dwarfed the Black Kites in the sky with it at the same time. Probably a first year bird. I was able to take two short videos of this bird on my smartphone. This is a first record of this species in Gifu City.
