Undescribed taxon, "Chatham Skua"
Observation details
Loads of amazing views, particularly abundant on the south side with thirteen near the landing site. The birds here are of the undescribed taxon referred to in eg Howell and Zufelt as "Chatham Skus"; in some plumage aspects, quite similar to Great Skua (pale-patterned upperparts)m in other closer to South Polar (fine streaks on head, golden nape patch)
