Observation details

Previously found this PM by Jim Kettlecamp. Owl was perched in a fence post between fields, a short ways up the rise. A farmer stopped to inquire what was going on near his pasturing cattle. Just making sure all the cars would not be getting into his cattle. I assured him we were harmless, only interested in this rare bird. And not getting out of our cars to avoid disturbing the bird. Is that a problem for your cows? No, he said, relieved and glad to know what's going on. I told him to expect more cars like this as long as the bird perches.
