Observation details
Continuing. Will add photo when I get a decent one. Gray fringe to contour feathers and no indication of dark feathers on throat indicates this is probably a hatch year feamale. Outer primary P10 appears rather wide at tip and bird was observed to flip tail, expected for BCHU. According to Pyle, a HY female should have a P10 with a much wider tip. The tip of this P10 appears to have the shape of a hatch year male BCHU or hatch year female RTHU. In addition, face patch seems dark and distinct, forehead appears green rather than gray, and at least some P1-6 appear to have tip that is straights or slightly concave, expected of RTHU. I have one photo from a day or two ago that shows tail quite a bit longer than wings, expected of RTHU. I have yet to get a good photo of the bird sitting and showing shape of primary tips. If this bird is a hatch year female, it should be a RTHU. If it is a hatch year male (unlikely)kit might be a BCHU.
