Observation details
Wasn’t birding, but when I looked at the two cormorants on the lake, they looked like Double-crested, not Neotropic as reported earlier - yellow lores, blunt gape angle, long bills, larger size. (Got a lot of poor photos, one back-of-camera attached, zoomed and cropped). ***Note - After I had run an errand and put gas in my car I came back to try for better photos just before 1:00pm and there were zero cormorants anywhere on the lake. So adding a thought that: since I saw these two close to 11:30am while previous sighting same day was four hours earlier, there could have just as easily been two Neotropics in the morning, and two Double-crested later in the day. So I thought it might be a wise idea to eBird them, even though I wasn’t actually counting birds.
