Observation details

Very good look at buffy eye ring and breast with distinct streaking on breast. Also got audio recordings. Since we saw swamp sparrows and Lincoln’s sparrows at the exact same time, we could compare and see a clear difference (along with tree sparrow also present), particularly the distinct buffy chest with very defined streaking on the chest of the Lincoln’s sparrows. Unfortunately we didn’t get a photo, but Merlin app recognized the Lincoln’s sparrows calls in multiple recordings (see attached). The habitat was a bushy/weedy thicket in Milliken state park, bustling with sparrow activity of multiple species, next to a pond, right off of the Detroit river walk.
