Observation details
Initially considered as potential for Subantarctic Shearwater. Darker face, extending below eye-line.. pixels on our photos aren't fantastic, however subsequent discussion has suggested that the range of dark feathers extending towards and below the eyeline can be variable on populations of Little Shearwater, particular for that of the Western Australian population tunneyi. The fact that our bird also shows the indication of a paler eyestripe, contrasting with darker ear coverts is suggestive of markings which should be within range of standard Little Shearwater.
