Observation details
Immature. I called this as a Mute Swan, but am TOTALLY not an expert... so I'm open to revising. Others call it as a Tundra. I've added some photos with the big glass. I wasn't confident of making the call in the field and ended up looking at the photos once I got home. I called MUSW on the basis of the brownish, rather than gray molting plumage and the bill. The bill had the beginnings of a black caruncle at the base, which make me think MUSW. The bill color was black with what seemed like gray/red-orange tones rather than pinkish, but color is a bit subjective. It also seemed less flat on top and less " flat and pointy" at the far end that a Tundra. I'm up for changing if the pros think it is something else.
