Media notes

At the second stop along this route, a saw-whet gave 6 yelps in the medium distance to the SE. In the ninth minute, presumably the same bird responded to my bouts of NSWO song by giving a couple chattering yelps very close to the SE. Those latter calls are on this recording. Even though I stayed an extra 5 minutes at this stop, I did not hear it call again. Given that the recorded calls at close range occurred after I gave 3 bouts of NSWO song, I have logged this recording as playback used (below).

Observation details

At the second stop, a saw-whet gave 6 yelps in the medium distance to the SE. In the ninth minute, presumably the same bird responded to my bouts of NSWO song by giving a couple chattering yelps very close to the SE. Even though I stayed an extra 5 minutes at this stop, I did not hear it call again. At the fourth stop, a saw-whet gave 1 yelp to the S in the 9th minute.
