Media notes

NSWO gave three yelps after I had given three NSWO 30-sec bouts of NSWO song (because the calls were apparently in response to my whistling, I've entered this vocalization as "Playback Used."

Observation details

At the first stop, a saw-whet gave 3 yelps just west of me in the second 5-minute interval. I then heard 3 distant yelps to the east in the 15th minute. I suspected that the second bout of yelps may have been given by the same bird. At the second stop, a saw-whet gave a burst of chattering in the 9th minute, close by to the WNW. Probably the same bird gave a single yelp in minute 14, still close to the WNW. At the third stop, a saw-whet gave a single yelp in the distance to the WNW.
