Media notes

At first spontaneously, then after playback, from treeline montane forest, somewhat stunted, with dense understory. It hopped in on the moss-covered ground. Giving its short song. Recorded using a Marantz PMD620 with a Sennheiser ME67 mic and foam windscreen.

Observation details

Singing spontaneously and seen quite well after playback at 3200m; we called it "Rufous" at the time, warning of splits in the future... A second bird was heard ca. 3400m. Recordings.
