Observation details
Vireo with pale supercillium that contrasts with dark crown and black borders above and below the supercillium. Black eye line that runs from lores to well behind eye. Pale unmarked breast and belly, and I detected yellow tint to vent. Upper parts appeared slate gray (bird viewed fairly high up in a large euc). Eye dark red, almost black (hard to see any color in It). Found early this afternoon by Jimmy who got word out, with Gary relaying. (Thank you both.) Singing almost continuously when I arrived. In a pittosporum tree just outside the park grounds NW of the tennis courts. It soon moved to large eucalyptus tree SW of there, about 70 feet away. Perhaps best viewed from the dirt lot here, above the firewood cuts. But it has occupied several trees in this general area. As I understand it, was first heard in tree at northwest corner of tennis courts, within the park grounds.
