Observation details
** EPIC**-unprecedented amount of these Rarities especially this far inland away from coastal downstate. Great find by Iroquois NWRs Paul Hess and relayed RBA by Celeste Morien. Twenty one large shorebirds, non breeding plumage with long recurved bills, dull gray backed, pale underside and long dark legs. Conveniently located relatively close in marsh directly out front of Info placard. Took flight once from close call flyby of NOHA only to return. In flight, white rumps with dark tails and legs extended well past tail, with white stripe running along primaries. For me this was just a Magical end to the day and truly AWESOME!! Once again thanks to Paul for sharing with Celeste, and her immediate use of Discord RBA. Photos TBA
