Observation details
Digiscoped videos taken. All birds appeared to be in 1st winter plumage. I would call it 1st summer, but in that plumage, it seems they have black coming in on the head, which these birds didn't. Small gull with relatively small black bill; fluttering and agile flight over surface of water noted; small size in comparison with other species present. 1st winter birds had white head; dark spot behind the eye; white underparts; gray upperparts; black wing stripe on lesser coverts visible on folded wing; black primaries. In flight, 1st winter had distinct 'M shape' pattern to the wings with black edges to the outer primaries and black wing stripe on lesser coverts; black trailing edge on the upper side of the wing; white tail with black terminal band.
