Observation details
Observed in Tokeland marina. Godwit slightly paler and grayer than MAGOs. Eye stripe only half way back over its eye. White rump with broad black terminal band on tail. Flew in with about 200 other MAGOS about 12:25 pm. In picture 2 the bird with the white rump is the HUGO. In picture 3 you can see the size difference between the HUGO on left and MAGO. We were on the dike just north of the marina when we saw the big flock of Marbled Godwits fly in a bit after noon. We went back to the main marina area and found Katie Volz already on the HUGO. We all enjoyed looking for about 5 minutes when something spooked the flock including the HUGO. We found the bird again north of the boat ramp, but Katie's help was much appreciated!
