chip notes of a perched bird; scarce migrant in this area;
Observation details
[1100m] two in main pond cienega differed in plumage (one had large rusty shoulder, the other none), three in riparian cienega were two together and one that was in a different area and seemed to vary in plumage; no calling except one bird that gave a short series of chip calls from a perch; generally seen perched in mesquites briefly after being flushed from dense grass;
