Observation details

Continuing intermediate juvenile found by Adrian Dorst about a week ago. Had planned to search the area till dark but walked up to the berm by the golf course HQ to scan and it was perched there 30 feet to my left. Incredibly confiding, watched as it made 3 dives into the medium grass below before catching a large rodent and flying off a medium distance away to eat it. Buffy bird with dark band below the throat and brown back. Photos / video taken, will upload. #273 for the Vancouver Island Big Year (or 274, if we can confirm the flycatcher at Swan Lake as a Least)
