Observation details
Rare. Small, pale wren, with streaked crown and back, prominent barring on wings, barred tail. Whitish throat, otherwise buffy below, darker on undertail coverts than on breast and belly. Short, slightly decurved bill, pale buff supercilium. Seen well, close, in good light, in goldenrod and weeds, always waist level or lower. Seen in southwest corner of the Christmas tree farm on Tuttle Lane, Stow, (opposite the Stow community gardens) maybe 10 yards in from the tree farm gate. Bouncing up and down while perched, called some when it relocated. Had it in view three or four different times for up to a minute, over a ten-minute period, but could not relocate it in the hour after that. Carla got audio, a couple of not-close iPhone pix that show a little of plumage, and not-close video; the video shows behavior better than plumage details. Audio and photos attached. Video (MOV) file not accepted by eBird, but we can share it by email if requested.
