Observation details
**Rare - and very scarce county migrant. Outstanding find by Devin Banning who was kind enough to hang out til I arrived. Spotted in nice habitat of overgrown brush within a clearcut. Initially came into Devin's phishing, give great but brief views mere feet away. Not being deterred for better looks, here's where it got Magical. Using playback of COWA song , he unbelievably came in almost uncharacteristically to within 4-6 feet. Walking along a fallen log and branches and responding with "pwick"calls which were recorded. Undeniably large warbler, grayish/brown hood complete around upper breast. Olive backed sans wing bars and yellow underside complete through long undertail coverts that almost touch tail tip. Distinct big eye with complete bold white eyering. He repeated this investigation in close quarters more than once, affording great photos and allowing to watch his skulky behavior. Another photo Nemesis bird no more. AWESOME!! Once again Kudos to Devin, very grateful!! Photos and Audio TBA.
