Observation details
Along with Mallika Scott, we attempted to follow the Blackpoll Warbler identified by Noah Gaines as it flew south from the Island Slough. We observed and photographed what we believed to be the bird in eucalyptus trees in the vicinity of 33.70403, -118.00319. Despite challenging lighting conditions, the warbler’s larger size, prominent wingbars, as well as streaking on the breast and flanks were apparent. Although the poor quality photos show a dark eyeline, as well as a whitish belly, vent and undertail coverts, they fail to definitively reveal details about overall coloration, including foot color, nor do they reveal details about dorsal area.
