Observation details

Awesome fall bird. Brownish green upperparts, white spectacles, black eyeline, bright yellow breast and throat, white belly and undertail. Face seen well... distinctive. Quick glimpses of the body. Very skulky in dense coffeeberry bush. Few calls heard.. mostly silent during 2.5 hour stakeout. Reported to me by a photographer friend who had taken diagnostic photos. Too shy for photos... lucky to see it because it is sensitive to even slight binocular movement (retreats back into cover). Mornings may be marginally better.
