Observation details
*rare; juvenile with some first-basic feathering on upperparts, feeding in deeper slough across river with one Lesser Yellowlegs. Distant view La initially but when I returned with the scope it was close and immediately across, then it flushed and flew across to the near flat with some Senis, calling with a soft “chuff” call all the while. It stayed there for a couple minutes while I got digiscopes and then flushed again to the back slough on the Norfolk Co. side. The best outcome so far of the epicly low water levels and diverse shorebird habitat at the canoe launch. First record for all-time Millennium Park list, personal species no. 228, and Millennium year bird no. 145 (on record-setting pace).
