Observation details
At 10:00, just as we arrived, I saw a dove/pigeon flying towards me in the distance. I got my binoculars on it, and as it dipped lower to the ground I saw bold white arcs on the top side of the wing. As it got closer, the most noticeable feature was the broad white terminal band on the tail. I then got a series of photos as it flew right overhead, continuing toward the recycling center just south of pond A4. We hurried over to search those buildings where Eurasian Collared-Doves hang out, but didn’t refind it. We then briefly checked the west side of the Twin Creeks sports complex and finally, the Sunnyvale Baylands, coming up empty.
