Observation details
Continuing bird found yesterday by Keith Hansen, his 4th (!!!) for the gallery. Immature male Archilochus with a single ruby colored gorget feather. Green on crown and back was much brighter than nearby ANHU. Keith pointed out the “notched” or “boot-shape” primaries that were visible when the bird was visiting the feeder and had its wings folded down. It was interesting to compare this to photos of the more “paddle-like” primaries that Black-chinned Hummingbirds have. Details and photos to be submitted to the CBRC.
