Observation details
Exact count of Traill's flycatchers vocalizing with diagnostic pip call; two birds were photographed and an additional third heard but not seen. Empidonax flycatchers with thin eyering, longer primary projection and larger bill than Least, etc. We could clearly hear two to our left and one to our right all at the same time in appropriate scrubby habitat near lake and marsh. Three different audio files are attached, one where all 3 birds are audible. The low frequency "pip" calls rule out Least and Willow Flycatcher, and also rule out the "pwik" call of Pewees. When inputted into BirdNet, all three of these audio files return 100% Alder Flycatcher. See the attached photos and audio.
