Observation details
Juvenile coloring? There was definitely lighter coloring on the breast. Merlin photo ID seemed to think a Great Cormorant was most likely, but we could not see any forward facing "beard"-like feathers in any of our photos. However, we also could not see any yellow coloring on the beak, as expected for a Double-Crested Cormorant (though it would have been faint on a juvenile, anyway). We did not have binoculars and could see only the detail that my rather poor camera on zoom could provide.
