Observation details
We were waiting atop of sand dunes beside the road, about 4.2kms West from the Jupiter Well at the crack of dawn. At 0620hrs, Marc Gardner heard and briefly saw two flying North-east adjacent to the road and heading towards a dune a hundred metres away where Luke Enright was perched at -22.893199, 126.557589. Marc called Luke on the radio and advised him that they were incoming, and Luke was able to get some ID photos as they flew by and almost over his head. It was our fourth and last day in the area trying to find them and we did in the end. Plus it was Marc Gardner’s birthday so he got an early morning birthday present. Slender olive green parrots with conspicuous long tail, pink throat and light belly obvious. Green underwings and lighter green/yellow shoulders noted. Calls were not loud but a distinguishable raspy prrrrrt prrrrt prrrrt.
