Observation details
RARE continuing at (37.7357963, -122.4884005) seen from about 0640 till when I left around 0800, stayed low in the Willows right at the edge of the lake, very active and feeding the entire time, wouod call occasionally. Cold wet and foggy this morning, There is a small side trail that goes down to the edge of the lake. standing at the end of this trail and looking in the willows to the right (south) is where the bird spent most of its time this morning. Very easy to see through all the brush but hard to get clear photos. New State Bird. (Park opens at 0600, when I got there before 0630 there was plenty of open parking spaces in the main lot for the park.)
